KUB Closes Union Ave.

Posted: 11/03/2014
November 3, 2014 - KUB will close a short section of Union Avenue between Locust Street and Walnut Street from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, as work is completed on the water distribution system in the area. This work will also impact one lane of the intersection of Union Avenue and Locust Street, but traffic will be maintained on southbound Locust Street. Ingress/egress to all parking lots will also be maintained. Alternate routes include West Summit Hill Drive, South Gay Street, Union Avenue, Walnut Street, Clinch Avenue, Locust Street, and Henley Street.

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at this location to assist motorists traveling in the area. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use extreme caution and expect temporary delays in this area.

KUB is a municipal utility serving Knox and parts of seven adjacent counties and provides electric, gas, water, and wastewater services to more than 445,000 customers.
