KUB Closures in West Knoxville and Fort Sanders Area

Posted: 08/26/2015
KUB will have lane closures on Kingston Pike in West Knoxville and on 19th Street in the Fort Sanders area.

(West Knoxville) Kingston Pike Lane Closure [August 27] – KUB crews will close a short section of the eastbound, curbside lane of Kingston Pike between Gore Street and Westwood Road from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., on Thursday, August 27, as work is performed on the water distribution system in the area. One eastbound lane, the center turn lane, and both westbound lanes will remain open. Friday, August 28, will be used as a rain date if necessary.

(Fort Sanders Area) Nineteenth Street Lane Closure  [August 27-28] – KUB crews will reduce a section of Nineteenth Street between White Avenue and Clinch Avenue to one alternating lane of traffic from 7 p.m., Thursday, August 27, until 2 a.m., Friday, August 28, as work is performed on the wastewater collection system in the area. The northbound lane will be closed while the southbound lane will remain open and be used to alternate traffic.

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution, and expect temporary delays in these areas. More information on this and other KUB construction projects can be found at www.kub.org.
