KUB Upgrades to Close Sections of 2 Greenways

KUB and its contractor will close sections of two City greenways located on the University of Tennessee campus as the natural gas distribution system in the area is upgraded over the next several months.

The first greenway closure - from June 15 through early August - involves a 2,500-foot section of the Neyland Greenway between Third Creek and Joe Johnson Drive near the UT Botanical Gardens and UT Veterinarian Hospital. A detour will be set up along Joe Johnson Drive to bypass the closed section and connect the Third Creek and Neyland Greenways.

The second greenway closure - from early August through early September - involves a 2,000-foot section of the Third Creek Greenway running from the area behind University Commons, through the UT Rugby Field area, and up to the culvert at the greenway entrance to Tyson Park. A detour of this greenway will be provided along Joe Johnson Drive to Neyland Drive, across Kingston Pike, and connecting to the Third Creek Greenway on Concord Street.
