Children play on the vibrantly colored playground
in Lonsdale Park.

Directions: Take Western Avenue exit off of I-640 and go east about one mile; turn left onto Texas Avenue and go about three-quarters of a mile; right on Stonewall; park is on left side of the road on Stonewall Street and Connecticut Avenue. Next to Lonsdale Recreation Center.

Lonsdale Park features three playgrounds, a large picnic shelter (perfect for special events), a greenway loop, small creek, open space and repaved basketball courts. Renovations in 2007 made it possible for Lonsdale Elementary School, Lonsdale Park, and Lonsdale Recreation Center to reside together--all on the same block. Children from Lonsdale Elementary can play in the park at recess and after school.

In 2012, Mayor Madeline Rogero opened the newly renovated Lonsdale Recreation Center featuring a renovated gym, updated computer lab, and an additional 2,500 square feet that includes expanded restrooms, a community room, a kitchen, and an office.
