Selected Works: Student Work from Instructor Diann Bishop 

Diann Bishop has been teaching painting classes here at KAFCC for the past  6 years. This show exhibits some of the work from students who have taken her classes, learned her techniques and have put their own style into their paintings. Diann teaches Underpainting like the Dutch Masters, Understanding the Color Wheel: Color Theory , Understanding Brushstrokes: the Artist's Handwriting and Watercolor for Adults. to learn more about Diann click here for our Instructors Page. People in Your Neighborhood/Call to Artists

Knoxville Arts & Fine Crafts Center will be hosting a juried show in June to highlight the creativity happening in our very own neighborhood! If you live OR work in 37917 please submit your work for this collaborative juried show. The show will be juried by KAFCC Staff.  

Entry Deadline: May 18, 2019 at 11:59pm
Delivery of Accepted works to KAFCC May 28, 2019 by 6:00pm
Dates of Show: June 1-29
First Friday Opening: June 7, 2019 5pm-8pm

: Each participant can submit up to three (3) pieces of artwork for consideration.  It is free to submit for this show. All media is accepted and must be an original artwork. No reproductions allowed. Please send digital images to ksullivan@knoxvilletn.gov. We have the right to reject any artwork that differs from the image sent. Acceptable image types: JPG, JPEG, PNG (must be under 5 MB each). Digital image files should be renamed with artist’s last name and the title. (example: A.Title.jpg). Image size is ideally 1600 pixels on the longest side.

You will be notified of acceptance by e-mail no later than May 21st, 2019. 

THE SPACE/WHAT YOU CAN ENTER: We are a community arts center and we share space with other events going on in the center. Restrictions apply.

2-D/DIGITAL MEDIA: Work must not exceed 30 inches in length or height. Must be ready to hang with suitable hanging wire. Canvases can be framed or unframed but must be finished on the edges. The artist is responsible for all electronic accessories needed for digital work. Please note that we currently do not have wifi in the building.

3-D WORK: Both functional and sculptural work is accepted. Work must be able to stand freely and securely on pedestals. Dimensions cannot exceed 18 inches in any direction.

FIRST FRIDAY RECEPTION: KAFCC is part of the Parks & Recreation Department of the City of Knoxville. We are unable to provide food and drinks as part of a municipality. We do encourage the artists to provide light refreshments at the First Friday openings. No alcohol is permitted.

SALES/COMMISSION: We encourage sales of work. We are unable to take money on behalf of any artist. We can however, provide purchaser with contact info and/or electronic payment options for each artist. We do not keep a commission for any sales.
