Due to utility mainteance, KUB will have lane closures on Cumberland Ave., W. Church Ave., Sullivan Road and Terrace View Drive.

Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – Cumberland Avenue Lane Closure [June 30] – KUB and its contractor will implement a lane closure of Cumberland Avenue between Henley Street and Locust Street from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m., on Thursday, June 30, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade project. The center, westbound lane will be closed, while both of the outside westbound lanes remain open to traffic.  

Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – W. Church Avenue Road Closure [REVISED June 29 – July 15] – KUB and its contractor will maintain a road closure of W. Church Avenue between Henley Street and Locust Street through Friday, July 15, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade project. Effective June 29, the below traffic control plan will also be implemented to maintain a safe work zone on W. Church Avenue:  Henley Street - lane closure between Clinch Avenue and Cumberland Avenue. The curbside, northbound lane is closed and all other remains remain open.  Alternate routes around W. Church Avenue include Henley Street, Clinch Avenue, Locust Street, Main Street, Walnut Street, and Cumberland Avenue. The contractor will make every effort to open at least one lane of traffic on weekends.  

(West Knoxville) Sullivan Road Lane Closure [June 30 & July 1] – KUB contract crews will reduce a section of Sullivan Road to one alternating lane of traffic between Deerfield Road and Gettysburg Road from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, as work is performed on the water distribution system in the area. The eastbound lane will be closed while the westbound lane remains open and is used to alternate traffic. Roadway repair work will occur during the same hours on Friday, July 1, only in the event that work is not completed on June 30. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. 

(North Knoxville) Terrace View Drive Lane Closure [June 30 & July 1] – KUB contract crews will reduce a section of Terrace View Drive to one alternating lane of traffic between Briarcliff Road and Bellwood Lane from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, as work is performed on the water distribution system in the area. The eastbound lane will be closed while the westbound lane remains open and is used to alternate traffic. Roadway repair work will occur during the same hours on Friday, July 1, only in the event that work is not completed on June 30. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. 
  
Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
