KUB Lane Closures on E. Fifth, S. Northshore, and W. Depot

Due to utility maintenance, KUB will have lane closures on East Fifth Ave., South Northshore Drive and W. Depot Ave. Feb. 18-19.

(East Knoxville) East Fifth Avenue Lane Closure [February 18] – KUB and its contractor will reduce a short section of East Fifth Avenue to one alternating lane of traffic near the Olive Street intersection from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, as work is performed on the natural gas distribution system in the area. The westbound, lane will be closed, while the eastbound lane remains open and is used to alternate traffic. Olive Street will not be impacted. Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic. 
  
(West Knoxville) South Northshore Drive Lane Closure [February 18-19] – KUB crews will reduce a short section of S. Northshore Drive to one alternating lane of traffic between Coachman Lane and Cherry Drive from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., on Thursday, February 18, and Friday, February 19, work is performed to complete service tie-ins following water main replacement. The southbound lane will be closed, while the northbound lane will remain open and be used to alternate traffic. 

(Old City) W. Depot Avenue Lane Closure [February 18] – KUB crews will reduce a short section of W. Depot Avenue to one alternating lane of traffic between Odgen Street and Williams Street from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m., on Thursday, February 18, as work is performed on both the water distribution system in the area. The eastbound lane will be closed, while the westbound lane remains open and is used to alternate traffic. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. Friday, February 19, will be used as a rain date if necessary.   

(East Knoxville) East Fifth Avenue Lane Closure [February 19] – KUB and its contractor will reduce a short section of East Fifth Avenue to one alternating lane of traffic at the Myrtle Street intersection from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Friday, February 19, as work is performed on the natural gas distribution system in the area. The westbound lane will be closed, while the eastbound lane remains open and is used to alternate traffic. Myrtle Street will not be impacted. Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic. 

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures, including flagmen, will be in place at this location to assist motorists traveling in the area. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in this area.
