Due to the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project, KUB will have lane closures on Henley, Walnut, Cumberland and Main.



Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – Henley Street Lane Closures [March 10 – April 29] – KUB and its contractor will implement lane closures on Henley Street between Cumberland Avenue and Main Street from Thursday, March 10, through Friday, April 29, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade project. Crews will begin work at the Henley Street/Clinch Avenue intersection, and work south. Lane closures will be implemented in the northbound lanes, with a minimum of one lane of traffic being maintained during this work. Work hours with lane closures will be from 6 p.m. – 6 a.m., with occasional lane closures for prep-work taking place from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. as necessary. The Henley Street/W. Church Avenue intersection will remain open until construction necessitates closure.

Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – Cumberland Avenue Road Closure [March 10-11, 13-14] – KUB and its contractor will close a short section of Cumberland Avenue between Locust Street and Henley Street to traffic overnight between the hours of 8 p.m. – 6 a.m., Thursday, March 10, through Friday, March 11, and again Monday night, March 13, through Tuesday morning, March 15, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project. The northbound, curbside lanes of Henley Street will also be closed during this timeframe. The closed section of Cumberland Avenue will be reopened to traffic outside of work hours. Alternate routes include W. Church Avenue and Main Street. 

Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – Cumberland Avenue/Main Street Lane Closure [March 10-April 29] – KUB and its contractor will implement a lane closure of the eastbound, curbside lane of Cumberland Avenue/Main Street between Eleventh Street and Popular Street from 6 a.m., Thursday, March 10, until 6 p.m., Friday, April 29, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project following weather delays. Poplar Street access will be maintained until construction progress requires its closure. More information will be announced ahead of that closure.  KUB and its contractor will make every effort to reopen at least one lane of traffic in construction zones on weekends and holidays, construction conditions and safety permitting. 

Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project –Walnut Street Road Closure [Extended through March 25] – KUB and its contractor will maintain a full road closure due to construction conditions on Walnut Street between Clinch Avenue and W. Church Avenue through 6 p.m., Friday, March 25, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade project. Follow up advisories will be issued as necessary. KUB and its contractor will make every effort to reopen at least one lane of traffic in construction zones on weekends and holidays, construction conditions and safety permitting. 

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
