KUB Lane Closures on Kingston Pike, Henley St., and Atlantic Ave.

Posted: 08/05/2016
(West Knoxville) Kingston Pike Lane Closure [August 7-8] – KUB crews will close a short section of the westbound, curbside turn lane of Kingston Pike between Lovell Road and Huxley Road from 10 p.m., Sunday, August 7, until 6 a.m., Monday, August 8, as work is performed on the natural gas distribution system in the area. Both of the westbound lanes and the eastbound lanes will remain open during this time, and turning access onto Lovell Road will be maintained. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control.

Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade Project – Henley Street Intermittent Lane Closure [August 8-9] – KUB and its contractor will implement intermittent lane closures on Henley Street between Main Street and Clinch Avenue from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., on Monday, August 8, and Tuesday, August 9, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade project. Lane closures to access manholes will be implemented in both the northbound and southbound lanes, but will not occur in both directions at one time.

(North Knoxville) Atlantic Avenue Lane Closure [August 8] – KUB contract crews will reduce a section of Atlantic Avenue to one alternating lane of traffic between Pacific Street and Oswald Street from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Monday, August 8, as work is performed on the water distribution system in the area. The westbound lane will be closed while the eastbound lane remains open and is used to alternate traffic. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control.

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas. More information on this and other KUB construction projects can be found at www.kub.org.
