KUB and its contractor have shifted the start date for the closure of the section Union Avenue between Market Street and Walnut Street to 6 a.m., Tuesday, January 5.

This closure will remain in effect until 6 p.m., Friday, January 22, as work continues on the Downtown Century II Utilities Upgrade project.

Valet parking will remain open for The Oliver Hotel. Alternate routes include Wall Avenue, Locust Street, W. Church Avenue, Walnut Street, and S. Gay Street.

KUB and its contractor will make every effort to reopen at least one lane of traffic in construction zones on weekends and holidays, construction conditions and safety permitting.   

Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during excavation and construction. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
