Knoxville's Finest Performs ...
Knoxville's Finest Performs In Thursday Fall Concert Series
Not only do our friends in blue "protect and serve", they also entertain us!
Knoxville's Finest made up of members of the Knoxville Police Department will be performing Thursday, Oct. 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Bill Lyons Pavilion on Market Square as part of the Market Square Fall Concert Series. The band plays a variety of pop, blues, bluegrass and country music.
The band formed last year to perform in a talent competition to benefit Consolidated Charities. The members were well received and had so much fun playing together, they decided to make the band official and take their act on the road. They have since performed at different venues over the past several months.
"Performing in the band has been a great experience! Not only do we get a chance to hang out with one another and play music; people get an opportunity to see us as human beings they can relate to and not just as police officers. We are building a relationship with the community," said Travis Brasfield, who sings and plays guitar in the band.

Fellow band member Jason Keck, who plays the banjo, agrees that Knoxville's Finest are KPD Ambassadors spreading goodwill and fun around Knoxville. "The band presented us with a neat opportunity to try something different and have a little fun. The concert is going to be a great event with a lot of police officers and their families attending to show their support."
The Market Square Fall Concert Series runs on Thursdays, from Oct. 1 to Oct. 29. The series, sponsored by the City of Knoxville and the Central Business Improvement District, will include a wide variety of music such as jazz, swing, bluegrass, pop and alternative-country folk rock.
