Go Vote! Knoxville Webpage is Resource for 2019 Election
The 2019 Go Vote! Knoxville webpage (
www.GoVoteKnoxville.com
) has been updated and is a great resource for City of Knoxville voters looking to get engaged and find out about the candidates.
The page features a link to register to vote, election information and important dates, and lists of who's running for which seats. You can get to know the candidates for Mayor, three At-large City Council seats and the 5th District City Council seat, and City Judge - the site provides links to their social media and websites.
In addition, Go Vote Knoxville! - which is nonpartisan and managed by the City of Knoxville Communications Department - provides a calendar of candidate forums.
Election Day for the City Primary is Aug. 27, with early voting beginning on Aug. 7. The City General Election will follow on Nov. 5.
New voters can register to vote at

. The last day to register to vote for the August primary is July 29.
In 2017, Knoxville voters made history by electing the most women and racially diverse City Council to date. Currently, four of the nine members of the Knoxville City Council are women (Stephanie Welch of the 1st District, Seema Singh-Perez of the 3rd District, Lauren Rider of the 4th District, and Gwen McKenzie of the 6th District). Singh-Perez is the City Council’s first Indian-American, and McKenzie is the City Council’s first African-American woman.
In 2019, voters will select four new members of City Council and a new Mayor. The Go Vote! Knoxville webpage will be continually updated with information about town halls, forums, and debates involving the 2019 candidates.
