Demolition crews are making headway preparing the former Baptist Hospital site for construction of the Riverwalk at the Bridges project - a 314-unit luxury-style apartment complex, public plaza and riverwalk that will overlook the Tennessee River.

Recent completed work:

- The Professional Building’s tunnel entrance has been completely dug out.
- All remaining debris from razed Vols Inn has been trucked across the street to the Blount lot.
- A wing and Vols Inn debris continues to be hauled off while salvage is processed.
- Repairs are under way on the sky bridge for the Medical Office Tower.
- Crews have completed a cleaning of the Medical Office Tower, including mildew remediation.

In the next round of work, A Wing and Vols Inn debris will continue to be hauled off, with copper and salvage being processed. Repairs to the Medical Office Tower sky walk will continue, while a remaining attached room will be removed.
