Lacking health insurance and interested in getting coverage for yourself or your family? Now is the time to explore your options under the Affordable Care Act. Open enrollment for health insurance coverage under the ACA will begin Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, and will continue through Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017.

In addition, about 20 enrollment events have been scheduled, where people with questions can get help with the enrollment process from trained volunteers. The first event is from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Haslam Family Club University - Boys & Girls Club, 407 Caswell Ave.
Anyone wishing to enroll will need these documents:
• Social Security numbers (or document numbers for legal immigrants);
• Employer and income information for every household member to be covered (numbers from pay stubs or W-2 forms - Wage and Tax Statements, modified adjusted gross income);
• Policy numbers for any current health insurance plans covering household members; and
• A completed Employer Coverage Tool for every job-based plan for which a member of the household is eligible.
