Annual Luncheon Recognizes Longtime City Employees and Retirees
This week’s City of Knoxville Employee Appreciation Luncheon brought together new retirees from 2016 and current employees who have worked for the City for a grand total of 2,645 years.
Mayor Rogero welcomed 65 honorees and their guests to the luncheon, held at Calhoun’s overlooking the Tennessee River.
Certificates were presented to current City employees who have reached the milestone work anniversaries of 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years.
James Lynch was honored for 45 years, all of which was spent in the Public Service department. He also retired in 2016.
The Mayor also acknowledged the five 40-year veterans, who are all women.
Cheri Gaddis and Gerry Kirk (Finance); Mayor Rogero; Brenda Conn (Law); Lisa Wilson (Parks and Recreation) and Martha York (Fire Department).
“To our active employees – I want you to know that your hard work and exemplary service don’t go unnoticed,” the Mayor said. “You continue to help make Knoxville a top destination location for business, recreation and a desirable place to raise a family—and a city that we can all be proud of.”
