Gay Street Intersection Impr...
Gay Street Intersection Improvements Under Way
Work is well under way on the intersection of Gay Street and Clinch Avenue this week.
Workers are installing a brick stamp system that will both spruce up the section of Gay Street and also help with traffic calming by creating a highly visible crosswalk for pedestrians.
The stamp pattern used to make the "brick" pattern in the asphalt.
The intersection is slated to reopen on Friday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m. Workers will move to the intersection of Gay Street and Church Avenue at 7 a.m. on Monday, September 18, and the intersection will be closed until 7 p.m. on Friday, September 22.
