Mayor Madeline Rogero, City Councilman Daniel Brown, Fire Chief Stan Sharp and others celebrated the renovation to Fire Station No. 7 in Lonsdale with a Monday ribbon-cutting.

The renovation took care to enhance the style and architectural details of the 98-year-old fire hall at 1216 New York Ave., a community landmark and one of the City’s earliest fire stations. But the project also increased the Fire Department's firefighting effectiveness in Lonsdale; the work reinforced the concrete flooring and driveway so that Station No. 7 could support a heavier new truck.

One of the City’s three new Quint fire trucks, a state-of-the-art piece of firefighting equipment, is housed at the Lonsdale station.

Crews from Station No. 7 ran about 1,200 emergency calls last year.
