Riverfront Student Housing Group met with residents during the Old Sevier Neighborhood Group meeting on Nov.  9 to present a proposal for its new student housing complex to be located just west of the Henley Bridge.

The student housing developer, University Housing Group, has partnered with Entasis Design and MAP Engineering for the “Riverfront Station” project. It is a  proposed as a 5-6 story student housing development to be located at the northwest corner of Henley Bridge and West Blount Avenue, just west of the bridge. The project will include 136 residential units providing living accommodations for 438 students. Amenities will include a clubhouse, fitness/yoga rooms, group study centers, an enclosed parking garage, a leasing center, a central courtyard with an outdoor pool, and connectivity to the planned Riverwalk.

During the neighborhood meeting, the developer along with its architect presented its preliminary design (see rendering, above) and discussed several items that will be heard before the Board of Zoning Appeals in December. You can read the full BZA agenda for Dec. 17 here
