Play in the Street! Open Streets Knoxville Kicks Off Sunday, Oct. 25
Everyone is invited to come play in the street!
Mark your calendar: The first-ever Open Streets Knoxville event is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 25.
Walk, bike, jog or dance your way between Knoxville's Old City and Happy Holler. A mile-long stretch of Central Street will be closed to motorized traffic from 1-4 p.m. that afternoon, creating a unique opportunity for shopping, playing, exercising and socializing in a different sort of way.
Open Streets Knoxville is a free event hosted by Bike Walk Knoxville with support from the City of Knoxville.
“A great city street is more than just a way to get somewhere – it is a destination in itself,” Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero said. “Bike Walk Knoxville’s Open Streets event will give everybody a chance to appreciate and enjoy our urban environment in a new way.”
