Human Remains Located in Woods Near 200 Block of Overbrook Drive

At approximately 12:39 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to the report of bones that were found in the woods near the 200 block of Overbrook Drive. The bones were positively identified as human remains. KPD Violent Crimes Unit investigators and Medical Examiner’s Office personnel responded to the scene to begin the investigation. The identity of the deceased or the cause of death have not yet been determined, and the investigation remains ongoing at this time.
