On 07/13/2020 at approximately 4:30 pm, E911 had gotten a call from an employee at Buddy's BBQ located at 4401 Chapman Highway stating that the business had just been robbed at gunpoint. The employee stated the suspect brandished a firearm while demanding the victim to open the register but left prior to getting any money. The employee was able to provide a very detailed description of the suspect that was last seen running near Krogers located behind the restaurant. Several KPD Officers along with KCSD deputies responded to the area and observed an individual matching that description in Krogers parking lot. He was taken into custody without incident and taken back to the victims who made a positive identification of the suspect. The weapon (which turned out to be an air-soft gun) and the mask used in the attempted robbery were located on his persons. He was charged with attempted aggravated robbery and drug paraphernalia. We would like to thank all the witnesses and the Knox. County Sheriff's Department for their assistance in the quick apprehension of this suspect.
