KPD Responds to Shooting at Victor Ashe Park, Suspect Identified
At around 12:10 p.m. on Monday, April 19, 2021, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to Victor Ashe Park for a shooting investigation.
Based on the preliminary investigation, the shooting occurred following a dispute over a financial matter between two parties. At one point, the dispute turned physical. As one party attempted to leave the scene, the male suspect, who was later identified as 22-year-old Devon Farris, fired several rounds at the victims’ vehicle, which was occupied by two people. No victims were struck by the gunfire and no injuries were reported.
Through their investigation following the initial incident, Violent Crimes Unit investigators obtained warrants for the arrest of Farris for two counts of aggravated assault. At this time, Farris has not yet been taken into custody. Anybody with information concerning his whereabouts is urged to call 865-215-7315. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
