Drug and Weapon Arrests for Week of December 13
In continued efforts to prevent overdose deaths and violent crime, specifically that which surrounds the distribution of illegal narcotics, Knoxville Police Department officers either arrested or charged 47 individuals for weapon or drug charges from Monday, December 13 through Sunday, December 19.

Among those 47 individuals, the charges included two for possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two for possession of a firearm while under the influence, three for unlawful possession of a weapon, one for convicted felon in possession of a handgun, nine for manufacture, sale or delivery of a controlled substance, two for possession of a stolen firearm, and 37 for outstanding warrants. Those arrested or charged ranged from 18 to 62 years of age.

Over the week, KPD officers also confiscated at least 21 firearms that were possessed in violation of state law, nearly 15 grams of heroin, about 36 grams of meth and 149 pieces of drug paraphernalia among numerous other narcotics.

It will always be a top priority of the KPD to take deadly drugs off the street and guns from those who wish to do harm in the community. The safety and security of Knoxville depends on it. The safety of our city also depends on the community’s help. If you have information regarding a crime, illegal drug activity or the whereabouts of a wanted fugitive, East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers is available anytime, day or night, by phone at 865-216-7165, online at www.easttnvalleycrimestoppers.org or via the P3 Tips mobile app. Those who submit information to Crime Stoppers will always remain completely anonymous and be eligible to receive a cash reward if the information provided leads to an arrest or the confiscation of drugs.
