Nine Guns, Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia Seized After Shots Fired Incident on McCalla Avenue 
Last night, March 1, 2022, at around 9 p.m., Knoxville Police Department officers responded to the area of McCalla Avenue and S. Kyle Street on a report of gunshots in the area. Responding officers found shell casings in front of a home in the 2200 block of McCalla Avenue, which had been shot several times. Officers spoke with the home owner, who stated that he had just gotten home prior to the arrival of officers. No gunshot victims were located either in the area or in the home, but officers located spent shell casings inside of the home as well as marijuana and an AR style pistol in open view. The home owner was found to have a loaded 40 caliber handgun in his possession as well as pills believed to be hydrocodone. After obtaining permission to search the home, officers found eight more firearms, approximately 6.4 pounds of marijuana, numerous digital scales, $4,600 in cash and additional paraphernalia used for packaging and distribution.

Harold Thompson, age 50, was arrested for possessing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony and multiple drug charges. In total, officers confiscated nine firearms from the home.
