Drug and Guns Arrests for Week of February 28
This past week, Knoxville Police Department officers either arrested or misdemeanor cited 72 individuals between the ages of 16 and 61 with either weapon or drug charges.

In a review of KPD incident reports submitted between Monday, February 28 and Sunday, March 6, 2022, KPD officers confiscated at least the following: 22 firearms that were possessed in violation of state law, nearly 140 grams of meth, over 70 grams of heroin, over 26 grams of cocaine, over 3,200 grams of marijuana, approximately 280 pills, nearly 100 pieces of drug paraphernalia and over $6,500 in cash from suspected drug sales and distribution.

The charges from those incidents included multiple counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, convicted felon in possession of a weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, manufacture, sale or delivery of a controlled substance, evading arrest and auto theft.

KPD officers have and will continue to work tirelessly to remove deadly narcotics from the streets of Knoxville and firearms from those who do harm in the community. The KPD also wants and needs the community’s help to accomplish that mission.

If you have information regarding ongoing drug activity, the whereabouts of a wanted fugitive or that could assist in a criminal investigation, East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers is available at any time, day or night.
