At around 11:50 a.m. on Friday, June 10, Knoxville Police Department officers received anonymous information that a man who lives at 915 Sidebrook Avenue had shot and killed another man at that location.
During the initial stages of the investigation, officers learned that the alleged suspect was possibly still at the home at 915 Sidebrook. Officers responded to the home and formed a perimeter around it. Officers established contact with the alleged suspect and were on the phone with him when he stopped responding.
Officers made entry into the home sometime around 2 p.m., where the alleged suspect was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot. Around that same time, officers also located the body of a man in the vacant lot next to 915 Sidebrook Avenue.
The investigation, which is being led by the KPD Violent Crimes Unit, is ongoing and remains in the preliminary stages. Updates will be provided when they become available.
