Janeth’s arrest was the result of an investigation led by KPD Property Crimes Unit Investigators. The investigation revealed that on numerous occasions Janeth entered the locker room of multiple gyms throughout Knoxville, including various Planet Fitness locations, and stole money, purses and debit cards from unlocked lockers. Janeth is then alleged to have used stolen cards to make purchases throughout the city. In total, Janeth is accused of victimizing at least six different individuals.

Janeth has been booked into the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility on charges of identity theft, fraudulent use of a debit card, computer offenses and theft of up $1,000.

The Knoxville Police Department reminds gym-goers to take extra precautions to protect their personal belongings. Anyone leaving items unattended in gym lockers should use a lock. Gym-goers should also remain vigilant for suspicious activity and report that activity to gym management or the police.
