KPD Investigating Suspicious Death After Burned Body Found on Watauga Avenue 
Woman Found Dead on Watauga Avenue Identified (September 26, 2022, 8 p.m.)
 
Knoxville Police Department investigators have positively identified the woman who was found dead on Watauga Avenue on Saturday night as Brandy Geisler, 34 of Knoxville, Tennessee. Cause of death has not yet been determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office and, at this time, it remains a suspicious death investigation.  
 
The investigation is ongoing at this time. The Knoxville Police Department Violent Crimes Unit is investigating a suspicious death after a burned body was found on Watauga Avenue late Saturday night. 

At just after 10 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, KPD officers responded to the wood line at 135 Watauga Avenue. Responding officers met with Knoxville Fire Department personnel, who had responded to that location for what was originally reported as a tire fire. After the fire was put out, the body of a yet unidentified woman was found. 

KPD Violent Crime Unit investigators, KFD arson investigators, Crime Lab personnel and the Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene for further investigation. The body was transported to the Regional Forensic Center for full examination and autopsy.
