Video Released from Shots Fired Incident on Pemmbrooke Shire Lane

The Knoxville Police Department has released the pertinent body-camera footage from the shots fired incident that happened on December 2, 2023 at a residence on Pemmbrooke Shire Lane.

At around 1:30 a.m. on December 2, Officer Arim Ismail, a 2023 graduate of the KPD Basic Recruit Academy, arrived at a home in the 6800 block of Pemmbrooke Shire Lane. She was dispatched to that location after Knox 9-1-1 received a text at around 1:20 a.m. through its Text to 911 system stating, “Need help asap.”

The following link includes the entirety of Officer Ismail’s body-camera video from the time that she arrived on scene until the involved individual was taken into custody.

After continued investigation following the encounter, the involved individual, an adult man, was transported to an area hospital for a mental health evaluation. Neither he, nor any officers, were injured during the encounter.

Officer Ismail has since returned from routine admin leave to her previous assignment.

The internal, administrative investigation, being led by the Office of Professional Standards, remains ongoing at this time.
