On Wednesday, July 1 at approximately 7:36 p.m., Knoxville Police Department officers were dispatched to a shooting at Divide Street and Savoy Street. Upon arrival, officers located three victims. Two of the victims were transported to the UT Medical Center for treatment for severe injuries as a result of gunshot, while the third suffered minor abrasions. Violent Crimes Unit investigators responded to the scene to begin their investigation. Based on the preliminary investigation, the three juvenile victims were attempting to make a prearranged sale with the suspects. The two male suspects then brandished firearms in an attempted robbery, began shooting and fled the scene on foot. There are no suspects in custody at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
