At around 12:25 a.m. on Monday, August 10, investigators with the Knoxville Police Department Violent Crimes Unit responded to a stabbing at the Holly Berry Apartments located in the 900 block of E. Inskip Drive, where a female stabbing victim was found lying outside of an apartment. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene by responding Knoxville Fire Department personnel. The preliminary investigation suggests that the victim arrived at the residence and a physical altercation ensued. At some point in the altercation, the victim was stabbed by the female suspect. The investigation is working to evaluate the claims of self-defense as all parties are accounted for and no arrests have been made.
