At around 2 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2021, Knoxville Police Department officers heard gunshots that were fired near 1931 Cumberland Avenue. Responding officers located two gunshot victims in the area, both adult males. One victim had a gunshot wound to the lower leg. The second victim had at least two gunshot wounds and was transported by officers to the Fort Sanders ER. The preliminary investigation shows that the shooting occurred in a parking lot off White Avenue following an altercation inside of Studio X. There is no suspect information at this time.
Major Crimes Unit investigators and Crime Lab personnel responded to the scene to begin the investigation, which is ongoing.
