KPD Officers Quickly Locate and Arrest Suspect from Saturday Morning Robbery 
Knoxville Police Department officers quickly located and arrested the suspect from a robbery that occurred at an area Big Lots on Saturday morning. 

At around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, KPD officers responded to the Big Lots at 4825 Broadway to investigate a robbery. It was reported that a man had entered the store, implied that he had a weapon and demanded money from the register. The suspect then reportedly fled in an older model green SUV. Responding officers found security footage of the suspect vehicle leaving the scene and photos of the vehicle were subsequently broadcast to patrol units. Shortly after, the SUV was spotted at the Hemphill Market on Holbrook Drive. The suspect was seen exiting the SUV and entering the business, and was taken into custody without incident. 

The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Matthew Harrison of Knoxville, Tennessee, admitted to committing the robbery in order to obtain money to purchase narcotics. Harrison was found in possession of an amount of presumed heroin as well as drug paraphernalia. He was charged with robbery, drug charges and driving while license suspended.
