The Knoxville Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that happened on Sunday evening in the 6500 block of Chapman Highway.
Sometime before 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2023, KPD officers responded to the 6500 block of Chapman Highway to investigate a crash involving a motorcycle. Based on the investigation conducted at the scene, a motorcycle being driven by an adult male was traveling southbound on Chapman Highway when it entered the oncoming lane of northbound Chapman Highway and struck an SUV head on. The SUV then hit another car driving southbound.
The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead following the crash, while an occupant of one of the other involved vehicles was driven to the hospital for minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by KPD crash reconstruction investigators.
