Week 15: Crews Tackling Central Annex, A Wing, C Wing
Seven companies have teams spread out across the former St. Mary's Hospital, handling everything from mass interior demolition of Central Annex floors to recovering refrigerant from cooling units to removing the canopy over the old emergency entrance.

"The contractors are working efficiently, and we're on schedule for where we should be for Week 15," said Jonathan Grammer, Assistant Vice President with Volkert Inc., the City's representative for the $40 million project to transform the vacant hospital campus into a new Public Safety Complex.

BESCO this week is continuing to modify temporary lighting in areas as the work progresses, including along the C Wing perimeter. Last week, temporary lighting and power were extended into the Women's Pavilion.

Del-Air Mechanical Contractors is completing the separation of the plumbing between the Central Wing and the Central Annex, as its employees also focus on recovering refrigerant.

Blount Excavating last week began installing erosion control protections, and that work is expected to wrap up shortly.

Renascent crews last week worked on soft demolition in the third and fourth floors of the C Wing tower. This week, they will be continuing in the fourth floor while staging to move into the A wing. Crews are also expected to complete the removal of the ER canopy.

NEO Corp., meanwhile, finished abatement work on LL2 last week in the C Wing. Its crews are moving to LL1 this week.
