Work Progressing on City South, Newest Development in South Waterfront District
The newest mixed-use development in the South Waterfront Redevelopment District - City South, at the southwest corner of Sevier Avenue and Davenport Road - has gone vertical this spring, and public components of the project are expected to be in place by the end of 2020.
City South couples 117 residential units with 3,500 square feet of ground-level floor retail space. It will add to the "Main Street" vibe along Sevier Avenue in the Old Sevier Neighborhood.
The developer, Dominion Group LLC, has been constructing its $14 million project for a few months. Dominion also has entered into a development agreement with Knoxville's Community Development Corp. and the City to build the needed public infrastructure (sidewalks, underground electric, lighting and landscaping) to make the project whole.
The public improvements are anticipated to be completed by the end of 2020.
