City, Partners Break Ground on Suttree Landing Park
Big turnout on July 7 for the Suttree Landing Park groundbreaking in South Knoxville - lots of enthusiastic families and community leaders, eager to see the park construction about to get underway!
City officials and South Waterfront neighborhood and redevelopment partners broke ground on the new $3.4 million Suttree Landing Park.
The 8.25-acre linear park will be a strategic asset in the redevelopment of the three-mile South Waterfront, Mayor Madeline Rogero said.
“We look forward to the opening of Suttree Landing Park in about a year,” Mayor Rogero said. “This park will offer unique amenities with well-designed features. It will be a great place where families can spend quality time, and visitors can enjoy wonderful river views. It’ll be a favorite spot for outdoor recreation enthusiasts.”
Suttree Landing Park will showcase a festival lawn, children’s playground, an accessible boat dock, a put-in ramp, river overlooks and parking. Complementing the park will be a new 2,988-foot-long two-lane tree-lined street, Waterfront Drive, which will offer direct access to Suttree Landing Park.
