With the warmer weather and many of us at home, now is a great time to think about Spring cleaning! If you find yourselves cleaning out closets and pruning bushes, please keep these current COVID-19 public safety precautions in mind. Waste and resources management is an essential service. For the protection of public health, employee safety, and environmental protection, it is important that you are aware of the updates and guidelines below for proper and efficient handling of your household and yard waste.
Waste Connections will continue to pick up curbside bins of trash
and recycling.
All items need to fit in your cart to prevent physical contact with uncontained items. Excess household garbage can be taken to the Solid Waste Facility (see below for more details, or visit this page).
Excess recycling that does not fit in the recycling cart will not be picked up at this time. You can take excess recyclables to any of the five City of Knoxville recycling drop off centers. All items accepted here need to be separated by material and loose (not bagged). For more information, click here.
Bulky waste is currently being picked up by the City, not Waste Connections, so please expect delays. Please call 311 (or 865-215-4311) to be added to the bulky collection list.
Curbside brush collections will continue, but may be delayed. Please be patient as our public service crews work to maintain our City and keep everyone safe.
City of Knoxville Recycling Drop Off Centers will remain open as usual.
The recycling centers will continue to accept Goodwill donations when given directly to staff members, who are using personal protective equipment. Goodwill stores remain closed so the recycling centers are a viable option for donating household items at this time.
