five different grant opportunities.
The City of Knoxville Office of Community Safety and Empowerment seeks to provide grant funding to non-profit and community-based organizations capable of implementing efforts in Knoxville, TN through five different grant opportunities. Grant Proposals should focus on the mission and objectives of the African American Equity Restoration Task Force, Empower Knox, or the Office of Community Safety.

AAERTF Grant |
African American Equity
Restoration Task Force Grant
The African-American Equity Restoration Task Force identifies strategic solutions to improve areas of disparity and disenfranchisement in the East Knoxville community by working with community agencies to develop policy and program recommendations that will create opportunities for generational wealth building.
Proposals should align with the goal to support and restore equity in East Knoxville within at least one of the focus areas of Education, Community Investment & Engagement, Homeownership, Small Business Development & Entrepreneurship, and Workforce Equity.
Award Available:
Either $10,000 or $20,000

Safety Grants |
Opportunity Youth Engagement Grant
Proposals should specifically engage young people identified as being at the HIGHEST RISK of involvement in violent crime based on Opportunity Youth criteria to specifically support programming, stipends, payment, or other services directly for the Opportunity Youth engaged in programming.
Award Available:
Between $5,000 - $40,000

Youth Violence Prevention Week Grant
Funded activities may engage youth, adults or the community at-large. Proposals should be focused on building awareness, education and prevention through programming, events, activities, trainings, campaigns, resource development and distribution related to the goals of Youth Violence Prevention Week and reduction of violence involving youth.

Between $500 - $3,000

Empower Knox Grants |
Workforce Readiness
Funded activities should cultivate social and emotional development and workforce preparation through meaningful and intentional programing that incorporates academic or skilled training as well as social-emotional skill-building. Proposals should engage and specifically support programming, stipends, payment, or other services directly for youth ages 12 to 24.
Award Available:
Between $5,000 - $10,000
Submission Deadline:
Dec. 5, 2024 at 4:30 p.m.
Event Funding
Community events for young people are an essential component in developing strong, positive social connections with peers and trusted adults. Proposals shall specifically support events for direct engagement of youth ages 12 to 24.
Award Available:
Between $500 - $1,500
Submission Deadline:
