City of Knoxville: Public Survey on Community Climate Strategies

The City of Knoxville invites all members of our community to fill out a survey to plan how we reduce our collective climate footprint.

Greenhouse gases are gases in Earth's atmosphere that trap heat. Some greenhouse gases occur naturally, but humans have accelerated emissions dramatically over the last couple hundred years, causing the climate to begin changing. In response, Knoxville City Council set a new goal in 2019 to reduce greenhouse gases across the community 80% by 2050, and launched the Mayor's Climate Council to create a plan to meet this target in way that works for our community.

Over 65 community members and technical experts of the Mayor’s Climate Council and its Working Groups evaluated dozens of strategies for their impact to our climate and community, and suggested possible actions to help fulfill those strategies.

Now, we want to hear from you and understand your priorities for how we might combat climate change.
