New KORE initiative to get outside this spring!

Parks and Recreation is challenging residents to take part in 50 to 100 hours of outdoor activities and track their progress using new coloring sheets. 
KORE 50 hiking sheet
Use the sheets to keep count of the number of hours you and your family members walk, run, play sports, do yoga or otherwise stay active outdoors. 

Participants can submit their completed tracking sheets by 5 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2021, for the chance to win prizes, including Splash Passes to the City’s outdoor pools.

Completed forms can be emailed to KPRD@KnoxvilleTN.gov or mailed to:

Mayor Kincannon joins neighbors in the KORE 50/100 Challenge!

Seven City parks will host KORE with Mayor K events in April and early May to encourage neighbors to get outside and utilize their local parks. Activities will include KORE Mobile games, art in the park, and enjoying the various amenities that each park offers (for example, tennis if the park has tennis courts).

Monday, April 5 – Harriet Tubman Park
KORE Mobile activities, tennis, basketball, art in the park

Wednesday, April 7 – Cumberland Estates Park
KORE Mobile activities, hiking on trail, art in the park

POSTPONED - Tuesday, April 13 – Sam Duff Memorial Park - POSTPONED
KORE Mobile activities, tennis, pickleball walking/bike on greenway, basketballs, art in the park

Saturday, April 17 – Holston River Park
KORE Mobile activities, walking/biking on greenway, fishing, art in the park

Tuesday, April 27 – Edgewood Park

Thursday, April 29 – Inskip Park

Thursday, May 6 – Morningside Park
KORE Mobile activities, art in the park, disc golf, walking on the greenway

Weeknight events will be held 5-6:30 p.m.  Saturday events are 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Any rained out events may be rescheduled after May 8.
