Fort Dickerson Living History Weekend Nov. 10-12

The Knoxville Civil War Round Table will be hosting their annual Living History Weekend, sponsored by the City of Knoxville, at Fort Dickerson Park located at 3000 Fort Dickerson Road just off Chapman Highway November 10-12, 2006.

Friday, November 10 is set aside for School Day. Area grade schools have been invited to attend a fun filled and educational experience, including medical and surgical demonstrations, artillery, infantry and cavalry demonstrations, and fascinating insights from local scholars and historians on the importance of Fort Dickerson and Knoxville during the War Between the States.

The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, November 11, and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, November 12, and includes living history campsites, infantry drilling and firing, Civil War Music, Civil War Medicine Exhibit, Battle reenactments, cannon firings, refreshments and other activities.
