KPD Civilian Employee of the Month

Posted: 03/22/2006
Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam and Police Chief Sterling Owen today named Donna Patty the January Civilian Employee of the Month. Patty is a TIBRS Auditor and is currently assigned to the Crime Analysis Unit. Patty has been with the Knoxville Police Department since December 1990.

Chief Owen said Patty is responsible for submitting KPD crime reports to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) each month. Those reports must be reviewed and submitted under strict guidelines established by the TBI. Patty had set a goal of reducing the number of TIBRS errors while increasing the efficiency of reporting the numbers each month. Donna worked with Information Systems to establish a pre-review process of all TIBRS data.

Chief Owen said, "On January 23, 2006, Donna received a letter from Jackie Vandercook, TBI Statistics Assistant Director, advising Donna that KPD had zero errors on the report submitted for December 2005. To our knowledge, this is the first time since TIBRS reporting began that any submitted TIBRS report had zero errors."

Mayor Haslam said, "This is another example of our employees working extremely hard to meet the challenges of their job. We thank Donna for her continued service to the City of Knoxville."
Chief Owen said, "The absence of errors in the data submitted by Donna to Nashville is a direct reflection of the dedication to excellence she brings to the job."

Patty will receive a signed certificate from the Mayor and Chief along with a free dinner from Ruby Tuesday Restaurant.
