Young-Williams Asks for Help During Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month

Posted: 06/11/2012
June is Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month, and Young-Williams Animal Center has dozens of cats and kittens looking for a home.

If you are considering pet adoption, please consider adopting a cat or kitten this month. Young-Williams' adoption specialists can help you and your family find the right pet for you, and the shelter will be offering adoption promotions throughout the month.

Young-Williams Animal Center also is asking for help from community members to support the large number of felines currently housed in the shelter. Community members who can help are asked to donate cat toys and canned food for kittens at the shelter.

Donations of dry cat food will support Young-Williams Animal Center's Pet Food Assistance program, which is designed to help qualified pet owners in Knox County temporarily meet the needs of their pets during today's difficult times. The Pet Food Pantry is opened on the second Saturday of the month from 8-10 a.m.

Young-Williams also accepts monetary donations and Furry Friend sponsorships, which pay for the adoption fee of an adult cat or dog to help encourage others to adopt. Donations should be dropped off from noon-6 p.m. daily at Young-Williams Animal Center at 3201 Division St. off Sutherland Ave. or at Young-Williams Animal Village at 6400 Kingston Pike.

Young-Williams is grateful to the many community members and local businesses that support the shelter and thanks anyone who can adopt or make donations.
