Hip length single brass button coat worn with regular Cross over "Sam Brown" leather gear. Also worn was the 5 point Hat. A change in policy allowed the officer to wear gun on the outside of his uniform. |
In the 1960's Officers were no longer required to wear coats as in the past. The shirts were gray with dark Epaulettes and pocket flaps. This design was worn until 1971. |

June 1, 1972 all officers except the Chief and Assistant Chiefs went to the same style of navy blue uniform: Five star hat, shirt, and pants. Female officers stopped wearing the White "WAVE" hat in 1974. |
