REMAINDER OF KCB 2020 SEASON CANCELED
In the interest of safety to its musicians and its audience, the Knoxville Community Band will not resume its performances in 2020. The band hopes to announce its spring 2021 concert plans later in the fall.

“Due to social distancing guidelines and the size of our band, we currently have no place large enough to accommodate our rehearsals,” KCB Director Larry Hicks said. “Also our concert venues will not allow large groups to gather. However, we are working to secure venues for our 2021 season. Hopefully we will be back to normal by then.”

Knoxville Community Band is affiliated with the Knoxville Department of Parks and Recreation. The band typically holds public concerts throughout the year, with a repertoire that focuses on marches, standards, and adaptations of classical works, jazz, and music from stage and screen. The band is directed by Larry Hicks, retired band director of Heritage High School in Maryville. Mark Boring, also retired from the Blount County school system, is the assistant band director.
