City of Knoxville offices will be closed Monday, July 5, for the Fourth of July holiday. 

Waste Connections will run its normal residential garbage and curbside recycling routes. Crews will also collect downtown trash and recyclables on its regular schedule.

The City’s public outdoor pools will be open regular hours. Ed Cothren (1737 Reynolds St.) and Inskip (4204 Bruhin Road) pools operate 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 1 - 6 p.m. on Sundays. For more information, visit KnoxvilleTN.gov/aquatics.

Be advised of these holiday-related closures and changes: 

• City of Knoxville Recreation Centers will be closed Monday, July 5. Youth Summer Camps will not meet July 5-9; they will resume Monday, July 12. 

• The City's Solid Waste Facility (1033 Elm Street) will be closed from Saturday, July 3, through Monday, July 5, and reopen on Tuesday, July 6. Due to the holiday, Free for City Residents Day at the Solid Waste Facility will be held on the second Saturday of the month, July 10.

• Knoxville Area Transit buses and trolleys will not operate Sunday, July 4, and the service desk will be closed. Full operations will resume on Monday, July 5. 

• The City's five recycling drop-off centers will be open, but the Goodwill attendant will not be on site Sunday, July 4, to receive donations of household goods. 

• The 311 Center for Service Innovation, which operates the 311 and 211 phone numbers, will be closed Monday, July 5. Residents needing to make reports to 311 are encouraged to download the My Knoxville app for Apple or Android devices in their app stores. Residents can also submit a request online at KnoxvilleTN.gov/311 or via email [email protected].
