The City’s Concerts on the Square live music series on Market Square begins May 1, 2018.
The Karns Middle School Jazz Band kicks off Jazz Tuesdays on May 1 starting at 7 p.m. followed by the Karns High School Jazz Band at 8 p.m.
For the rest of the Jazz Tuesdays season, you can hear these acts play 8-10 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) on Tuesdays, from May 8 through Aug. 28:
• May 8: Knoxville Youth Saxophone Ensemble (7-9 pm)

May 15: Knoxville Jazz Youth Orchestra (6 pm) and Knoxville Jazz Orchestra (8 pm)

Meanwhile, Symphony on the Square initiates Variety Thursdays. The Knoxville Symphony Chamber Orchestra will perform from 7:30-9 p.m. on Thursday, May 10.
After the Chamber Orchestra kickoff, Variety Thursdays will feature the following acts every Thursday, from 7-9 p.m.:

All Concerts on the Square events are free, including parking for motorists entering City-owned garages after 6 p.m.
No alcohol or food will be sold on Market Square proper, although 14 restaurants – many with patios – are located on the Square.
