The North Winston Road overpass over Interstate 40/75 in the West Hills neighborhood will be given the honorary name Wandy Moody Overpass to recognize and honor the former County Commissioner and public school teacher Wanda Moody during a ceremony on Friday, July 19, at 2 p.m.
Moody served as County Commissioner from 1986 - 2006, and served on the State of Tennessee board of Education under former Gov. Lamar Alexander.
In March 2019, City Council unanimously approved the recommendation submitted to the Public Property Naming Committee by Congressman Burchett and Mayor Rogero. Signage indicating the overpass’ new name will be posted for both northbound and southbound drivers on North Winston Road.
The ceremony is open to the public.
