Work has begun to stabilize a steep hillside on Colonial Circle that was damaged during February’s heavy rains and flooding.
Design & Construction Services Inc. is managing the $569,319 project and is removing a collapsed 175-foot-long retaining wall, located behind businesses at 5501 through 5507 North Broadway.
The contractor will regrade the site to stabilize the slope with grass, and a drainage path will be created to transport stormwater runoff.
A portion of Colonial Circle was washed out as a result of February’s rains, but all houses on the street are accessible.
The project is expected to be completed in late November.
